Product Owner Data Science and Machine Learning

The role will require a combination of excellent communication and presentation skills as well as strong technical data modelling/machine learning capability. 

The Product Owner Data Science & Machine role is embedded, and will work day-to-day, within a cross-functional Data and Insight product team. This will include:    

1. Manage and develop the product roadmap for relevant products to deliver on business and user needs including working closely with the Intelligence Labs team to align with both the organisational vision and strategy as well as the enterprise data & analytics strategy.  
2. Ensure product vision is clear, documented, and communicated including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and responsible for driving buy-in with senior executive team for product roadmap / vision.

4. Work closely with the stable team to ensure they understand the “what” and the “why” in backlog and story prioritisation. Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories 
5. Ensure that product roadmap decisions are based on a ‘test and learn’ approach where feedback from stakeholders is incorporated into future product development cycles.
6. Conduct extensive product research to evaluate competitor activity, strategies and emerging market trends locally and globally.   
7. Coach the machine learning engineer to define, identify and document detailed technical requirements and define best approach to solve business problems (choice of algorithm, etc.) 
8. Active participation in Product Community of practice to support incremental maturity of organisation’s product team capability
