Data Analytics Consulting - Portfolio Management

In this position you will leverage all of CNA’s available data and information, covering diverse functional areas such as exposure or policy attributes, distribution, risk control, operations, and claim data as needed. You will also perform non-actuarial data analysis on a variety of data sources to help provide insights to inform decision making across the underwriting value chain. This new position provides the opportunity to work directly with senior underwriting leadership.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting and operational leaders to both understand the nuances of their business and to implement the analytical work product directly into their core processes across the organization. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

1. Support the development and implementation of a strategic roadmap as it relates to expanding core capabilities in this area for CNA.
2. Collaborate with underwriting leadership to ensure alignment between accountability and targets at various levels in the organization.
3. Creates automated data-driven scorecards that scale up and down through the organization across various areas of responsibility.  Ensures scorecards are directly leveraged in CNA’s core processes.
   Implement scenario analysis tools that help underwriters effectively execute strategies.
4. Uses technical expertise to provide business insights and recommendations to support business improvements. Reports findings to Senior Management.
5. Translates qualitative strategic initiatives to quantitative data-driven work products.
6. Interprets data and identifies relevant analyses; Monitors trends over time and provides actionable insights to determine actionable outcomes.  Makes recommendations using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
7. Operates in an agile product mindset with a focus on iterative delivery toward key business outcomes.
8. Acts as a technical resource and provides feedback on cloud-based tech solutions in support of analytics and reporting objectives.
9. Works independently, receiving minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience by providing instruction, guidance, and advice.
10. May actively partner with other analytical teams across the organization and/or participate in special projects.
11. Responds to and fulfills adhoc data related requests.
