• Work with ops team daily to run queries in Prod as required/requested.
• Data migrations, creating and managing backups.
• Work with peer DevOps Engineers to roll out changes to our production environment.
• The existing DBA and the new team member will be involved in sprint stories that have a SQL component.
• They will be responsible for the entire SQL landscape and architecture and will be responsible for maintaining SQL DBs in all environments focusing heavily on production.
Guidance/senior tasks
• Provide database expertise to Engineering teams (through reviews of database migrations, queries, and performance optimizations)
• Help developers in formulating SQL statements and review all SQL (code review) PRs (Pull Requests) for sprint release.
• Reviewing the existing stored procedures (particularly the writes), documenting the tables they write to, to assist with a re-architecture project, proposing optimizations and improvements where identified.
• Plan for and extrapolate data growth and manage the capacity database infrastructure.
Monitoring
• Managing database instances, deployments, and replications.
? Monitoring database performance, diagnosing and resolving database issues
? Handling questions related to the environment.
? Managing logs and error analysis.
• Administering scheduled tasks and other cloud functionalities
