Roles & Responsibilities

As an experienced Data & Analytics Specialist, you leverage programming and data modeling expertise to build and maintain advanced reporting and data visualization for various end-users. Within the Corporate projects team, your advanced data engineering skills will transform, develop, and deploy innovative solutions using ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s analytic methods and technology to deliver clear business insights, complex reporting, and forecasting. This role involves close collaboration with the technical teams, engagement with leadership, and participation in a cross-functional teams to enhance data science capabilities across the organization.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

Develop data compilations, analyze reports and visualizations, dashboards, and models that increase effectiveness and efficiency in decision making, deliver solutions that run autonomously. 
Leverage existing technologies and tools and process design to solve complex business needs from ideation through to implementation.
Provide expertise in highly specialized technical knowledge areas such as data systems, advanced analytics, predictive modeling, optimization, etc. 
Ensure data architecture, report/tool designs and platforms are sustainable, expandable and follow industry best practices. Support and promote data architecture processes and governance of master data. 
Design and support systems and platforms that facilitate end-user consumption of data through visualization and query tools.
Facilitate workshops and design sessions to gain understanding of problems and desired solutions for the long term.
Pro-actively collaborate with colleagues across the ArcelorMittal group and with external partners to identify and develop new functions, technologies, or solutions to achieve business results.
Liaise between the internal departments and IT team to support changes to the data landscape, including testing & validation when changes are made.  Represent corporate reporting in the digitalization road-mapping.
Champion prioritization of improvement efforts as they align to the Business Plan and Corporate goals.
Design and perform data reconciliations to identify data anomalies before they become critical issues.  Audit data on a regular basis. 
Determine the approach for unplanned events impacting data validity.  Interface with departments and resolve any issues. 
Adherence and application of IT General Controls (ITGC) and internal and external audit requirements. 
Maintain, implement and adhere to established guidelines and best practices around data analytics.
Maintain thorough documentation and user guides for all reports and tools developed.
